The doctoral study program, which consists of monthly lectures, seminars, training, and workshops, is an essential part of the research environment in which the student undertakes his or her research. Participation is mandatory. An appropriate team of supervisors is sought for each doctoral student. The supervising team consists of the Directing Supervisor and one or two assisting supervisors. The role of the supervisors consists of helping students to develop a suitable research environment.

  • Proficient in both speaking and writing in English
  • A strong and independent artistic practice as a visual artist or designer.

PhDArts does not award any scholarships or grants, but there are no tuition fees for PhDArts, for EEA and non-EEA students alike.
