The practice-based research of the research group Image in Context is focussed on new roles, practices and working standards of artists. Important aspects are ‘artist in context’ and ‘visual work standard in context’. The research group researches how artists and designers can fulfil their role in the social, political, educational or intercultural domain. Within the research group Image in Context we work in an open and inclusive way, always taking foundations into account. The research group applies various work standards of artists as catalysts in processes of change. Researchers, teachers, students and social partners work together on solving current social problems.
The research group is part of the Research Centre Art & Society and is related to the bachelor and master courses of Minerva Art Academy. This Research Centre also houses the research groups Lifelong Learning in Music, Art & Sustainability and Art Education.
