The domain of the research group contains artistic (film) research (and related topics, such as ‘immersive media’).

The research group serves as the research hub of the Film Academy and is responsible for fostering and nurturing a practice-oriented research mindset among students, lecturers, and staff. In our vision, research is a vibrant and dynamic mentality that is cultivated through practice. In their daily work, students, lecturers, and other film professionals are already engaged in research, acquiring and generating (practical) knowledge. By recognising, harnessing, and supporting this process – and bringing back the innovative results it yields – we can feed them back into education, broaden the horizon of film, and help shape its future.
