The Creative and Entertainment Games lectorate studies the content, creation, and context of commercial and artistic video game development. From hits such as Grand Theft Auto and Candy Crush to personal vignettes, this research aims to reveal trends and insights into how creators are using Digitally Enhanced Realities (DER), and to facilitate their work in the future. Within this broad field there is focus on issues relating to ethics, storytelling, interface design/feedback, and puzzle design. Alongside these research themes is a broader push to enhance policy-level awareness of the importance of supporting research into the arts and entertainment games industry.
