Together with Platform Kunst Onderzoek, the Commissie Wetenschappelijke Integriteit Kunsthogescholen organizes a discussion afternoon on research integrity on June 18, 2025. We would like to come together to exchange thoughts on (mis)understandings, doubts and developments about integrity and ethics in the context of artistic research.

Since the introduction of the PD-trajectory, lectors are often the primary supervisors for their researchers. This implies a responsibility that concerns not only research outcomes, but also the integrity of the research process. This discussion afternoon will focus on the ins and outs of this responsibility. In addition to lectors, we would like to invite policy-advisors, committee members and confidential advisors to participate in this afternoon.

The program will consist of a guest lecture by Alexander Damianisch (University of Applied Arts Vienna) on the question of how research integrity and artistic integrity go hand in hand. We will then engage with each other through discussion tables, focusing on the topics of Ethics and Integrity, Honesty and Transparency, Diligence, and Independence.
